ABOUT

Will Dankert - Owner
Lifelong hunter & Army veteran with deep Southern roots & a passion for sharing the outdoors.

I’m originally from Alabama, where I started hunting at a young age and developed a lifelong passion for the outdoors. That early love for hunting grew into a deep appreciation for guiding, shooting sports, and helping others feel confident in the field.

I served 14 years in the U.S. Army as a Scout and Helicopter Mechanic and was medically retired as a Sergeant. During my time in service, I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan - experiences that shaped my work ethic, resilience, and commitment to those around me.

After my military career, I went on to own and operate two successful local businesses, building strong ties in the community. I’ve been a Texas resident since 2004 and have called Salado home since 2010.

With lifelong experience in hunting, guiding, and shooting, I enjoy sharing that knowledge with others and helping them grow their skills, confidence, and respect for the outdoors.

Tawnya Dankert - Owner
Leader at heart, outdoorsy by nature, & happiest behind a long-range rifle or under an open sky.

I’m passionate about sharing my love for the outdoors and sport shooting with our community. After 23 years in the U.S. Army, I retired as a Master Sergeant, where I had the opportunity to deploy to Afghanistan and serve as a Combat Medic, Surgical Technician, First Sergeant, and Instructor - experiences that shaped both my leadership and my heart for teaching others.

Along the way, I gained over 26 years of experience in operations and management and earned my master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, along with a master’s-level certification in Emergency and Disaster Management.

I grew up on the West Coast and made my way to Texas in 2012, eventually settling in Salado in 2017. My love for the outdoors started early as a Girl Scout, and later as a leader and summer camp director - so being outside and helping others learn has always been a big part of who I am.

I’ve always enjoyed shooting, and more recently, I’ve really fallen in love with long-range shooting. And while I won’t give away exactly how long I’ve been around, let’s just say I come from the days when phones were attached to the wall and music came from a Walkman.
